VARANASI: An IndiGo flight (6E6316) heading to Gorakhpur from Hyderabad made an emergency landing at Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport (LBSIA) of Varanasi following detection of a technical snag in the engine by the pilot on Sunday.
Director of the airport Akashdeep Mathur said, “A total of 150 passengers were on board. After an emergency landing of the flight they were all sent to their destinations by other flights or by road.”
He said that around 11.30 am the air traffic control of airport was contacted by the pilot of IndiGo 6E6316 flight to seek permission for emergency landing by mentioning a technical snag in the engine of the flight. In view of his call, all necessary arrangements were made at the airport and an emergency landing of the flight was ensured at around 11.50 pm, he added.
All passengers on board were safe. After ensuring alternative arrangements for sending the passengers of this flight to their destinations, the airline officials started efforts for the repairing of the flight.
